Job Description

Responsible for a wide range of human resource related functions, including but not limited to recruiting, HRIS, new hire orientations, state, federal and local compliance, training, organizational development and managing special events or functions.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  •  Provides Human Resources (HR) support to the business units that Ilitch Holdings, Inc. (IHI) support, including recruiting and selection, HRIS, Compensation, Organizational Development, etc.   
  • Develop and utilize unique recruiting sources that results in highly qualified applications and selections. 
  • Monitors, audits, and investigates HR related matters and regulations accordingly including, but not limited to safety, sexual harassment, discrimination, ADA, FMLA, Wage and Hour, EEOC, DOL. 
  • Assist with corporate programs, including performance management, HRIS functions, employee engagement, compensation, training and development, etc.
  • Facilitate All-Entity New Hire Orientation or other training sessions as needed.
  • Assist with or handle employee relations issues and makes recommendations to resolve concerns and/or improve morale.
  • Acts as a liaison between departments (payroll, benefits, workers compensation, and HR Services).
    Collaborate on HR-related projects or task forces.
  • Represent the company or business unit entities at unemployment hearings or other external events.
  • Performs administrative duties including but not limited to: sending out correspondence to applicants that were not selected, new hire notifications and orientations, monitor tax credit compliance etc.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and sensitivity to all HR related matters and information.

 

Supplemental Job Functions

  • Assists and plans events and programs as directed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

 Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor degree in Human Resources or related discipline.  Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of formal degree.
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in one or more areas of Human Resources, including recruiting, selection, compensation, HRIS, organizational development, employee relations, HRIS/Payroll systems, etc.
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal labor/EEOC laws.
  • Evidence of highly developed written, verbal and presentation communications skills, with the ability to communicate to a wide range of audiences.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, database, Internet, etc.)
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Evidence of organization and planning skills with the ability to prioritize and manage concurrent high priorities and complex projects.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel and adhere to the corporate travel policies.

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Society for Human Resources (SHRM) certification.

Working Conditions

  • Works in a normal office environment where there is no physical discomfort due to temperature, noise, dust and the like.
  • This position may involve travel.
